SYNOPSIS

"Havenfall” is a graphic novel portraying the return of a long-forgotten race of legends amidst the aftermath of a deadly pandemic. The story was illustrated in its entirety by Canadian concept artist Navid F Rahman, and co-written by Rahman with Bangladeshi author Fahim M M Abir.

When a deadly virus wreaks havoc across the planet Solaerys, a legendary race of Vaenin (Solaerian for “Depth Hunter”) discovers the antidote in the form of a crystallized deep ocean enzyme, which is engineered over the ages to treat the infection as well as various other ailments. As civilization continues to progress, the Vaenin way of life is pushed towards obscurity.

Five hundred years later, the virus evolves and makes a devastating return, rendering all existing antitoxins useless. A once-legendary Vaenin known as Wzomak (pronounced “Zow-mack”) is forced to come out of retirement when his only daughter Wzikae (pronounced “Zee-kay”) is infected, realizing that her days are numbered. With all the developed metropolises locked down and the remedial hubs inaccessible, father and daughter race against time as they scour the hemisphere for a cure, battling the forces of nature along the way.
